There are plenty of jobs to do in the garden throughout Winter to get ready for the coming Spring. Here are a few essential jobs Adam has suggested for the coming months.
Pruning is an essential Winter job for fruit tree’s such as apple or pear. It will reduce the size of the tree and promote better quality fruit in the seasons to come. It is the perfect time to do this when the tree is bare and dead or broken branches can be easily identified.
It’s also the perfect time to start some hardy bedding plants such as Sweetpea or Snapdragon, or even strawberries. Always use rich, well composted manure soil and keep under glass or a warm windowsill. After 2 weeks you should see signs of germination, and after 4 weeks you will have an established plant.
