4.In a pot filled with a free draining potting mix or just some peat free compost mixed with sand, push the cuttings in to a depth around half the length of the stem. It’s best to do this at the edge of the pots as this stimulates the roots to go down. Some people at this stage also dip the base of the cutting in rooting hormone or a weak vitamin C solution.
