FROM FAIR WEATHER GARDENERS TO SEMI PROFESSIONALS, WE ALL NEED A FEW TIPS TO MAKE OUR GARDENING LIVES EASIER.

Summer is HERE (APPARENTLY). SO, LET ME share my top tips for a Dandelion free lawn using, OF COURSE, our beautiful Victorian inspired Dandelion Weeder!

1.Start by giving the dandelion a quick drench with a watering can. This makes it easier to lift out in one piece as dandelions are tough little beggars and you want as much out as possible in one go.

2.The Dandelion Weeder or Daisy Grubber is a tool with design roots in the 1800s. This Victorian tool uses its fulcrum to gently lift the weed out keeping as much of the tap root intact as possible.

3.Simply push the forked tip into the base of the weed and smoothly rock backwards by pushing the handle down, this action levers the tap root cleanly out of the soil.

4.The smooth action levers the weed ensuring the whole tap root is pulled cleanly out and nothing is left behind.

If there are any parts of the root left behind, horticultural vinegar works really well. Just drop a splash into the hole where the weed was, making sure to avoid the grass and this will prevent the weed from returning. Now enjoy your beautiful lawn!

ERGO

Based on traditional British farm tools that were designed for ease and fuctionality long before the word ‘ergonomic’ even existed.
